Clean India Campaign Launched at Qutab Minar

Seeking support of corporates and PSUs for the Clean India campaign, Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai today launched the pilot project at QutabMinar aimed at improving the conditions at heritage sites to attract more tourists.

“There will be about 100 monuments to be taken up in the PPP model under the Clean India campaign to keep these tourist sites neat and clean and environment friendly,” Sahai said after launching the project.

The projects involves round the clock garbage clearance, drinking water facilities, maintenance of parking lots and toilets and proper signages at the heritage complex among others.

“The campaign will be carried out in the PPP model with the involvement of PSUs and corporates. I am convening a meeting of PSUs and corporates to work out the details,” he said.

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the PSU under the ministry, is entrusted with the pilot project at QutabMinar.
